Here is why we added no SPF
We have not added synthetic UV filters to Step 2 and Step 4. While we understand the demand for SPF in creams, we have consciously chosen not to include it in our 4-step routine. Here’s why:
SPF is effective separate form skin care
- The first reason is that we want to provide you with a pure skincare experience—skincare that is 100% healthy for your skin. Creams with synthetic UV filters do not meet this criterion. What many people do not realize is that a portion of what you apply to your skin circulates in your bloodstream within 30 seconds. We believe it is important that only pure, natural, and healthy substances deeply penetrate the skin through our 100% natural 4-step routine.
- The second reason is that we stand by the high effectiveness of our 4 steps. This effectiveness is achieved by using high percentages of pure plant extracts. If we were to add SPF in an effective amount, the overall effectiveness of our 4 steps would decrease because there would be no room in the formula for other active ingredients.
Adding SPF has three disadvantages:
- Reduced Effectiveness of Active Ingredients: Our active ingredients would be less effective.
- Lower Percentage of Active Plant Extracts: The space in the formula would be taken up by SPF, reducing the percentage of other active ingredients.
- Ineffective SPF Concentration: The SPF would be present in too low a concentration to effectively protect against UV-A and UV-B rays and other types of light.
These are the reasons why we prioritize the quality of our pure and effective skincare. Currently, we do not sell sunscreen products. Sunscreen is a separate category of products. We keep these categories separate to maintain the high effectiveness of our skincare. In the future, we will offer sunscreen products separately from skincare.
We believe in and stand 100% behind what we do. We cannot make the same claims for a product that includes SPF.
The good news is that our pure skincare naturally contains mild sun filters because plant extracts also contain these substances in nature. These gentle sun filters are sufficient if you are not sitting in direct sunlight. However, if you are going to be in the sun, cycling, or walking, we recommend applying a healthy higher SPF factor (between 30 and 50 SPF) over your skincare and under your makeup.
We believe in the proven power of natural ingredients.
